Rooting, shifting and mobilizing: Women's peacebuilding across differences in Georgia and Myanmar

This article explores how female peace activist's experiences of armed conflict drive their activism. By analyzing women's activism as a manifestation transversal politics, I capture and social positioning in relation to the influence they shape identities create alliances across divides. Building on narratives activists members organizations Georgia Myanmar, argue that when such displacement loss are articulated with awareness gendered dynamics conflict, women expand categories which defined, challenge political stances were hitherto only guided by ethno-political context. process allows approach other parties (which previously either neglected or considered opponents) build common ground for despite existence multiple differences within groups.
